what do you use yours for? i've been doming stickers lately i cut the material on my summs plotter with an 8.5x11 rectangle around it then cut that out by hand then run the sheet thru my alps printer voila die cut stickers, then i squirt the urethane on them, cure and deliver. mostly i've done samples and mistakes but have done 2 paying jobs that covered the cost from gregory and handed out lots of samples that look like they will turn into money.

Ive had a 1300 for a couple of years now and have used for a few projects... smaller decals... some photographs cut into a sign.... other little files that were too small to plot... ive been covering them with 2mil clear vinyl...i want to try and clear them with Pelucid, anything else ive sprayed them with, they seem to lift a bit...

i've had good luck using krylon and one shot clear sprays. using light mist coats from the can in one hand and a heat gun in the other get 2 or 3 coats and you should be good to go. the resin doesnt interact with the ink so no additional prep is required when doming. i've also printed waterslide decals using papilio aqua slide paper. i've got one on my van thats been there over a year with no fading.

i got a 1300...sittin on the shelf in the other room....did some nice stuff with it....saved my but on a couple jobs...iam outa black ribbon now...i can use the roland tapes and wind them into the alps cartridge...did a 8.x11 calendared white vinyl, multicolor, fading from reds to blues...with yellow and reds...had it on the back window of my dodge van for almost 3 yrs...just took it off couple weeks ago...had sprayed it with krylon clear, light coats then a slightly wet coat...wont move the inks this way.....so it has longeivity..

Well, I guess I'm going to try running a regular piece of vinyl through it. I think I'll try printing something very small for a test. I just have visions of it getting stuck to the head. It will probably come out looking like the clear tape I sprayed with RT. LOL.
Would anyone suggest cal. over cast for this test?

brian i just use high performance arlon, matte white seems to work the best
