Hello everyone,

I had a customer contact me about re-doing one side of the 93 pace car. I have searched high and low for a restoration kit for this car and can't seem to come up with anything. Do you have a good source or direction for us to look in. A few places referred a few other places, but still nothing.
I only need one side of the car (driver) but will take what I can get. I can't match the colors using Avery or Neschen so I can't cut it. The stripes are metalic.

Here is what the car looks like.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Brian,

Have you tried contacting someone at Chevrolet? These are collector cars, and if you used a false decal package, it would hurt the value tremendously.

Thanks for the reply Mike. It is a dealer that has the car. They said this package was done by someone besides GM or a dealer.

I have contacted Phoenix Graphics and they sent me to the Legends. The Legends sent me to Phoenix.... go figure ... LOL.

Thanks again for the input.

As odd as it sounds I think I would contact the Indy Mueseum In Indianapolis Indiana (at the track) they have a great volunteer group that will research nearly anything that has to do with Indy.

Worth a try anyway...If nothing else maybe you can find out who provided the original
pace car that year. Once you know that you should be able to track down the graphic supplier. All of that stuff is copy righted,
so anyone that copied the original(from Indy) had to have their permission. What I'm trying to say here is there is a distinct trail here ...once you cross it you should be able to track it in either direction.

Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville has an extensive archive, but I don't know it it includes newer cars.

They are closed Monday and Tuesday. You might give them a call after that. Vic G

Brian,

Is it possible to create a vectored file? I was just thinking that it might be possible to reproduce the colors with an Edge via SpectraTone.

Thanks Monte and Victor, I will pursue both avenues you offer.
Glenn, yes, I could vectorize it from a digital photo, then test plot it on paper to allow for tweaking. This is an option that I'm considering. (as a last resort) .

Thanks again!!!
