The Best purchase I've ever made! I use mine for posters as well as printing all of my positives for screen printing. Cartrages last a long time and the suport has been there when I've needed it as well. As for rip programs, I use Photoscript from Cadlinc and FastRip from the Screen printing Institute. While there is a dongle conflict issue between the two its a simple matter of removing the USB dongle befor starting the program. Seams to be a very durable machine and I'm quite happy with it! Robin, have you checked out the bulk ink setup available for the 3000 from squaredot.com?

They make the POSJet clear film material for screen positives, plus software, and a really cool bulk ink system.. a 500mL bottle with tubes that connect to a modified black print cartridge... it's dirt cheap compared to the cost of new cartridges.

I plan on purchasing a 3000 for printing film positives as well, but I'm just not sure when.. I just don't have a real need for it, it's more of a toy for me.

Thanks for the info Mike! I've had a couple freinds with Epson 3000s that have used the bulk set-up and have had early print head failure, so I'm sceptical about trying second party inks. I'm using a plug-in program for Photoshop called Fast Films that does all the color seps for you. Fast Rip is their driver program that permits the Epson to produce lazer quality films. There are quite a few resources for the film material and I've narrowed it down to a couple that I like and can afford! I'm still in the infant stages of this whole process and it is certainly an eye opening experiance. Thanks again for the info, like your decal sets!
