I just wanted to let you know that I have recently been diagnosed with
AAADD
(Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder ) This is how it goes...

I decide to do the laundry today. I start down the hall and notice the
newspaper on the table. OK, I'm going to do the laundry...
BUT FIRST I'm going to read the newspaper. After that, I notice the
mail on
the table. OK, I'll just put the newspaper in the recycle stack....
BUT FIRST I'll look through the pile of mail and see if there are any
bills
to be paid. Yes. Now where is the checkbook?
Oops.. there's the empty glass from yesterday on the coffee table. I'm

going to look for that checkbook...
BUT FIRST I need to put the glass in the sink. I head for the kitchen,
look
out the window, notice my poor flowers need a drink of water, I put the
glass
in the sink and there's the remote for the TV on the kitchen counter.
What's
it doing here? I'll just put it away...
BUT FIRST I need to water those plants. I head for the door
and...Aaaagh!
stepped on the cat. Oh darn. Cat needs to be fed. Okay, I'll put the
remote away and water the plants...
BUT FIRST I need to feed the cat.

END OF DAY: Laundry is not done, newspapers are still on the floor,
glasses
still in the sink, bills are not paid, checkbook is still lost, and the
cat
ate the remote control ... And, when I try to figure out how come
nothing
got done today, I'm baffled because ... I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY! I
realize this condition is serious... I'd better get help...
BUT FIRST...I think I'll check my e-mail.

We are sisters in this terrible disease...I have it too, along with CRS (can't remember sh*t). LOL!
Getting older is certainly interesting but I always liked the saying that goes:
You don't stop having fun because you get old,
You get old because you stop having fun...or something like that.

Adrienne I thought it was called Old timers disease I suffer from it bad thats why I hang my glasses around my neck sick of trying to find them

And another thing......Why is it when we lose things we start looking in the strangest places for them? I've searched the freezer for my keys, and the microwave for my wallet.....God help us.

we in the psychological field call that behavior...SIDE-TRACK ABILITY...cure for this is... when you get up in the morning make a list of what you want to accomplish today....and dont fall prey to this odd disease... send check to address below...

The list doesn't help. Trust me. Used to, then one day, the AADD overpowered the whole make a list treatment. Think I'm in the advanced stages.....

If anyone has any new cures, let me know. Maybe shock treatment...

Adrienne, I have NO idea as to what you are talking about. hahahaha My oldest son lives next door and swears I have "Old Timers". I went to happy hour last Friday and stayed too late. He asked what had happened to which I replied, "That stuff is really kickin' in now. I couldn't find my way home."
Girl, just don't forget how to apply the makeup we need it more at this age. Gotta go now and wash the grits and eggs off my face.

Ha, ha, Adrienne, someone that finally understands me!

Defragmentation and desk cleanup doesn't work! Try carob ice cream and turn on the blues or rock and roll and lots more things fall into place for me! Adrienne, at least you can stop to read the repapswen!

Here's how I look at it:
I have a brain, its a certain size, its stretched to the max because all my life every day I learn stuff that I need to stuff in the brain and that's what stretches it to capacity and after all the time of living and stuffing some of the mixed up stuff falls out the back of the brain on a regular basis.
I have no control over it falling out or over what parts of my stuff fall out.
Simple, no?
