Sherwin-Williams has introduced a new lower priced aeorsol paint similar to Krylon, and marketed under the trade name "Now".. The overly enthusiastic young salesman in the paint department of a large home improvement center assured me that the new product was the same as Krylon......... NOT!

I bought a can and experimented with it over the weekend. While it seems to be an adequate aerosol paint for average projects, it does NOT work with vinyl. It doesn't bite into vinyl like Krylon and when you remove the transfer tape, it lifts up chunks of the paint. It also appears that the formula for some colors of Krylon have been changed and that some colors of Krylon no longer work with some brands of vinyl. I highly recommend that you do a little testing before you get into a major project.

Just thought I would pass the information along in hopes that it saves some of you lettervillans some time and grief.

I've just about given up on Krylon use on vinyl now that I've gotten some vinyl screen inks..

I still use plasti-cote and Dupli-Color aerosol cans though... these paints stick extremely well plus they're handy cause they're made in OEM paint matching colors for autos.
