At least everything is repositionable. But the design had a 11" by 8' fade across the 3' by 8' banner, with a graphic to go over it. Of course the paint came up with the transfer tape and the vinyl pulled up the rest of the paint. This was after a week-end of dry time. Next I pulled up the rest of the paint with scrap vinyl and applied the graphic directly to the banner. Then used transfer tape to mask around just the edges and put the paint back on. Well the graphic kept trying to come up with the tape and it was put on dry. I applied the rest of the lettering directly to the banner (the un-painted area) using both cal. and cast vinyl and they still wanted to pull up. I have them applied and the tape off but I can still easily pick them off. Will they set? This banner doesn't have to leave the shop until Thurs. I have used plenty of 10oz. banners from creative banner and used the same type of design on all different colors....is it the silver? I simply hoping it's safe to sell because I've wasted 2 days fussing with it already. Any input appreciated. Thanks

I knew before I jumped in here I couldn't help...but I just have to ask why people always want to letter materials that are made to be impervious to foreign substances.
Some examples I've had calls on over the years...
"Can you paint me some letters on this teflon thingy"?
"I have a stainless panel I want lettered but nothing will stick to it can you help""?
"I want to put some lettering on some candles ,whats the best kind of paint"?
"I painted a logo on some chrome hubcaps but it won't stay on...what do you use when you do it"?
If the banner is truly mylar give it up...they use mylar to overlay fibreglass and epoxy resins so it will release and leave a glass like finish when removed...if resins won't stick ,not much else will either.

Yep....It's sold as silver mylar and it's also sold as Ronan, vinyl and screen receptive from Creative Banner Co. Why in heavens name do they sell it. Ya know I did have a customer wanting roses painted on a teflon coated blazer and I had enough common sence to know better. I even had a fella pull in with his over the road semi that he proudly announced he WAXED for me and my 6 yr. old son said what I was thinking..."DUH!" I sure wasn't up for a learning lesson when you put your trust in a reputable company!

I rest muh case... Good luck with the banner tho Robin ...sorry for all your troubles.
You might call your supplier and ask what they recommend (they won't know, but it's always good for a laff) while they make something up.
Time to try your sales skills and see if the cusomer wouldn't like something else...hang in there Kiddo.
