Hi all. Well, now that I've realized I can't do everything I learned at the meet in one day, I'm getting back to work.

I'm planning on doing this billboard out of 5 vertical sheets of econolite, & the frame out of 2"x2" galvanized pipe.

The Billboard should be about 4' from the ground, 12' high total.

Question: What posts should I use & how deep should I bury them? Any type of reinforcement?

Someone oncew told me a good rule of thumb is to set your posts 1/3 the height of the overall sign height. 12' divide by 3 = 4' deep. As far as what type of posts to use 6x6 treated posts or 6'' dia steel posts.

Hope I've been of some help??

Felix the depth of the poles is dependant on the type soil they go into,....deeper for sandy loose soil not quite as deep for hard clay. The number of poles is also a variable.
hope this helps ya!

In my opinion Felix, use treated wood poles. It will be less work drilling and bolting later on. I'm also with the 1/3 of the height theory. Sub contract the structure out if you have to. GOOD LUCK!

Hey Felix...How's the weather down there. It is HOT as a Bas#%@d up here!!
