Apart from our respective favourite signmaking software, what other software do you find vital to your life? (business or personal). My vote is for: Winfax, for sending/recieving faxes. ACT for managing my client details. MYOB for accounts. Palm software (plus hardware) for taking it on the road. QuickVerse Bible for keeping my mind on heavenly things. Brittanica for earthly wisdom. Thumbs Plus for viewing piccies and clipart. Jaws PDF for sending stuff to clients. Ontrack Powerdesk for file management. to mention a few.

I use jpegoptimizer so much I bought the Imageoptimizer program. This also does gif files - as well as png's. It's great for saving digital photo's...just open 'em, crop 'em, crunch 'em and save 'em. Get the shareware version at www.xat.com Cheers, Neil

Abatus Mirror Server - For making a simple job of maintaining a mirror image of critical files AutoCAD - For just about anything vector related. mIRC - For wasting time when you should be working. MS Access - incredibly useful for a million things FTP Serv-U - Allows you to give people access to specified directories/drives while you are online.

Do I ever feel clueless when I read about all this sophisticated stuff y’all are using! I still kick and scream about computers and a lot that comes with them. I freeze up mentally when it comes to software I think is way too fancy and removed from my reality. Yet, other than EstiMate, without which I really don’t want to operate, I very much like the Digital Auto Library. I do quite a number of vehicles, and not only do I not have to crawl all over them any more to measure, I can create and give visual designs and proposals quickly. That eliminates misunderstanding and helps me upsell the customer who comes in and just wants his name on the side as big as he can get it cheap. The printouts are a professional and exact replica of the vehicle, I hang them up on a 4x8 display board and then attach a photo of the finished job. My customers study it and recognize vehicles around town.
Now for the comment……”did YOU do all these”…..and my stock answer….”Well, actually I like to display the work of my competition”…..

I see several comments about Thumbs, for managing photos, and this year I switched to CompuPic Pro. I like it better. Have any of you tried it?
I think the fondness for Acrobat will increase also, as continuing growth is occurring with PDF's.
I really use the eremove.exe all the time too. It shows me what email is on my server awaiting download. I see the titles and a tad of content if I'm further curious. I can select what I want nixxed, and download the rest, preventing unwanted emails ever landing on my system.
I also like the fontlist.exe that gives me viewing or pages in print of all my loaded true type fonts.
How can you print pages of the Corel fonts that are on the CD that are not loaded into the system?

Rick, do you have an address for CompuPic Pro? I've not heard of it. I've been using ThumbsPlus for years but I'm always open to improvement. I'm glad to hear someone else appreciates Listfonts, a simple useful program!
