I've never been to a Letterhead event but am very interested in attending one. I'm in Louisiana & am wondering about the Alabama "Splatter Jam".... I'm really a computer guy with little handpainting skills but I've always been inspired by the hand lettered work in the mags... is this event something I would be interested in?

Glenn, I'm going to the meet and i'm in the same boat as you. I do vinyl but am trying to learn other things thanks to the inspiration on this board. Don't be shy, just be there. This is my first meet and I feel very fortunate that it seems to be shaping up as the biggest event of the year. I plan on absorbing as much as humanly possible. And the langnaipe (sp?) is that we can meet and get to know some really great folks. I think you make number three or four that will be first timers. There are now three from Louisiana! Bring something Cajun and all the Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes you can gather! Hope to see ya there.

Glen, I have been to only two meets One in OK City in 99 and one in Georgia in 2000, This will be my third, but not the last. I started out in a sign shop without computers doing everything by hand, but I have learned so much from these two meets, I plan to go to one every year till I retire(which is Sept. this year) Then I plan to go to more. You not only need to come, but you need to be ready to meet a lot of new friends. PS do a project if you like, or do one on site. or do like me and just come to see what everyone else is doing. Bill

PKing, Please be aware that too many Cajuns could turn Duck soup into Duck Gumbo quickly. I'll bring some rice.
One more thing just to bump this post up! The Mayor of Letterville and his wife will be there too!! Maybe even HeadTV

Glenn by all means make it over to Duckie's. While this isn't officially this years Dixie meet, I'm sure it will have all the flavor of one. Compared to most Letterhead meets they are less structured and more laid back. The last two were the best meets I have ever been to. The meet in Georgia last year had A LOT of computer activity going on with a TON of information being exchanged. Take my word for it there will be plenty for you to do, you won't regret it. With Pat hosting the meet a splendid time is guaranteed for all

Cheryl, Sorry but crawfish season is over untill early next spring. Right now they are dug deep into the mud to beat the heat. If you find them the shells are so hard you would need a hammer to crack them! I have some peeled tails in the freezer and I will make some crawfish dip just for you. Kathy
