As important as signage is, it rarely gets its due when it comes to 'real' art critics or historians. Every once in a while, someone will do something to call attention to the art of the sign, and for that I am grateful.

I'm also a big fan of nekkid women, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Chrysler Hemi's.

Here's a artsy photographer who found the svelte curves of the female form complimentary to the angled good looks of a Holiday Inn era sign. This is a nude, so dont click it if you're opposed to it :

You'll take note the sign is not exactly ground level... I would've loved to have been there that day, seeing her climb the ladder, turn around and 'pose'while trying not to fall.

Interesting pic.

Now about those hemis - my bro has a fully restored 69 Dodge Daytona - but, sadly, it is not a Hemi. It does have a 440 in it and is fast as hell, but no hemi!

dan we had MOPAR car show here in pcola month or so ago...never saw so many HEMI'S in one spot in my life...69-71 hemi dart was there only a few of these black ones ever made...like the day it rolled outa the factory...couple super birds and super bees...this place has some of the most awesome collector cars i ever seen..

Ohhh Danno... be still my heart. A '69 Daytona is one of the two Mopar's I've not owned that I dreamed of. The other being a 71 Cuda.. The 69 Daytona is in a class all its own, and its one of the few musclecars that made it thru the recession in the hobby unscathed.

When I graduated high school, I went to college for a day and decided it wasnt for me. So I invented an occupation! For the next 6 years I was a 'collector investment broker' dealing primarily with Mopar musclecars. Being young and enthusiastic, a lot of older rich guys took me under their wing and showed me the ropes, how to make deals and the difference between a good job and a bad job.

Then Clinton got elected and the whole hobby crashed! Disposable cash became emergency savings and the phone didnt ring again for two years.

By then I had focused my creative side to t-shirts, which begat signs, and computers shortly there after.

I guess I should go do that 'a little about me' stuff now eh?

I truly didn't know they had muscle cars as late as 1969 since they installed those smog thingies as early as 67. Since I grew up in the early sixties when wedges, hemis, Ford SOHC's and 409's were kings it seemed to me that the later days the cars got slower with the exception of the 69 offset dual quad Z28 302 @ 450 hp.

I now live in southern Oregon and at 57 years old have a 64 Valiant frame connected with an injected 340 which should be finished by mid august, I just love streetable fast cars. And as Barris once said " anyone can restore a car, it takes a real man to chop it up "

This is soooo cool! Not only are you guys sign guys but you are into mopars too! You won't believe the number of chevys and fords on the road here... Got a 68 Sport Satellite, with a 383 magnum, 4 speed and none of the power robbing stuff i/e: powersteering, a/c etc. Kind of hard to load a 4x8 sheet in the thing, but that is what the minivan is for!

geez guys, I thought naked women and hot rods went together? It's worked for ZZTop for 30 years...

I made my living in racing and restoration from about 1986 thru 1992. Not a great living, but great memories! I still make the Billet Bars that launched Lowe Racing Components in 1987, if any of you B/RB Mopar owners out there remember them. I havent advertised them in a few years, need to get back on that.

Not to show my hand as a turncoat, but I sold 99.9% of my Mopar stuff about 5 years ago, and bought a '82 Vette thats been collecting dust ever since. I always loved the final shark design, and will eventually shoehorn a 440 in it

If you have any Mopar magazines from the 88-91 era, you might find me in there. I was in the NMCA mags around 1990-91, but that was for hanging around with a SBChevy and a certain red 68 Camaro. Oh the humanity! Now you know why I went into seclusion for so long!

These days my addictions are front engined dragsters and 392's. I WISH I could get addicted to naked women on signs, but they wont stop running away!

Roger...Speaking of Zora Arkus Duntov,,Small Block Rules.,,,,,,,,,Take a look at my web site at a car I built in the late 60,s it was called "Shark" it was all fiberglass and had a 327 Chevy small block that in the early 70's was clocked at ,,,,,0 to 60...to 0 in less than 7 seconds....4 speed with 411 Posi on a late model stretched Corvette frame,,,,2640 lbs total weight with me and a tool box on board...overall height was less than 48" Seems like the memories are stronger of the cars than the babes,,,,,(I guess I am telling my age)
By the way I don't seem to recall getting my shirt, In fact I don't seem to recall ordering one !!!! I if you have any left I would be proud to wear an extra large...Thanks Shep'

Hey Shep, I visited your site the other day, I was very impressed!!
You (like me) like to spread your attention in many directions !!

Used to help a friend with a A/ stock/auto.
Camaro(427) we never got that anchor over 128/ 11.38, Grumpy Jenkins could and did!!

Also met "big daddy Garlits, Jungle Jim Liberman, Lil John Halstead, they all stayed at my neighbors house when racing Fremont(n. california)
The neighbors were "Goodnight Bros..

Well anyway, We will send ya a x-large, wear it in good health !!

I'll send ya a photo of my 28 roadster pickup
soon, its comming over on the boat in 2 weeks.

Oh yea, "the Grump" I used to run Englishtown years ago. The pits were full of Jenkins Competition cars. Bill used to race there a lot too. One week I noticed him staging crooked, I got the nerve up to go ask him if that was helping him get a longer roll out. He bit my head off snapping "Why don't you just figure that out yourself" guess the nickname was fitting

George, I think the problem with "The Grump" was that he never lit that Cigar !!!!!! Since I have been quit smoking for about 15 years,,,,,hmmmmmm that may be his problem,,

Remind me some time to tell you about the time at Bristol, myself,Grumpy and Linda Vaughn ( MIss Hurst) was in the motel pool at the same time,,,,almost caused a riot!!!!!!
