Looking at the quality of work, surrounding beach area, and the color of the water, my guess is Ocean City, Maryland. If I’m correct, that is the work of Randy Hofman. He does Biblical sand sculptors every “season” just off the boardwalk in front of the Plim Plaza Hotel. I think he has been doing them since the 70’s, after learning from, Marc Altamare, the gentleman that did them from the 50’s. The pictures look great, but to see the work up close is truly unbelievable. And he knocks these things out in just a few hours. When done he sprays some type of glue agent over the piece to facilitate weathering for a few days; then after those few days, he starts a different one in its place. Neat stuff!
I believe its done as an outreach program, but not 100% about that. This area of the boardwalk always has major traffic in front of it. So Karen, you can take as many pictures as you wish; you won’t be the only one.
