Hmm...... we did a letterhead meet in Conn. about a year ago, seems about time to do something. Where abouts are you? Anyone interested in hosting a New England meet?

I went to one on NY/CT border this past spring. Turned out to be more of a Hotrod/yardsale meet if you ask me.

I tried like heck to get to Cam's meet last year, and up to Cornwall this year, but fate had other plans. But if there's another one anywhere in New England, you can bet your a** that I'll be there.

I've never been to a meet before. Is there anything for a "Vinylhead" to do there? I don't know one end of a brush from the other, but love design. I'd love to go and help out any way I could. I'm in seacoast NH.

If a New England meet were to happen, just like any meet there would be lots of stuff for beginers to do, and some computer stuff going on, hopefully you can get some suppliers to bring digital print systems routers who knows? first you need 1 person to stand up and say "I will Host it"

Well, I'll sneak a post in here, only because you Yankees have better manners than some... I hosted a meet in Stonington, Ct. last year; it's a lot of fun and a lot of work to organize (even a small regional meet). But there's always just inviting people for a weekend paint/pizza 'n beer session at your shop, without going through a big routine. I'm thinking about doing one of those in the fall, concentrating on glue-chipping glass, but it will be small and by invitation. Anyone with a specific interest in that or some other glass technique can e-mail me.

well very interesting... I did a mapquest hting and took the average distances multiplied by 2 and divided by pi and found the best place to have a mini-meet....
....Ashburnham, mass what do you think Spud?

Hey, Ken,'tis true! Geographically, Ashburnham possibly is the perfect place for a Letterhead get-together. Smack'd dab in the center of Massachusetts on the NH border. The problem for me is that my "shop" is actually a 10' x 12' office inside a kitchen cabinet shop. I am able to use the woodshop area when it's not being used for building counters, etc. So I really haven't got a place to have a meet. But if anyone else has any ideas or wants to supply the shop, I'm certainly willing to help out. I NEED to get at least one Letterhead meet under my belt. Let's keep this thread alive until something happens. There's plenty of active Letterheads here in New England, so let's throw some other ideas around. Besides, we gotta get Steve and Barb down here.

Hey Mike! just pushing to see if you had room, sounds like we could jam a dozen sign people in there anyway...lol I always thought Boston was a great place to have a meet, chowdahfest or throwing vinyl in the harbor something like that. Boston and the New England area is rich in history and picturesque as well, it would offer alot to letterheads like steve and barb from canada, or folks from the midwest who would like to see the ocean and stuff. Hmmm..... now that I thinnk of it Joe Rees is down on Cape Cod, beautiful country down there...wonder what he could input?

I may be able to get something together in western MA for maybe 20-30 people as long as you don't mind rubbing shoulders!

Here's a couple links to Pat Meets in your area. Just last year, we all got together with Cam Bortz in Stonington, Ct.
Way back in 1997, a bunch of us gathered in Hyannis, Cape Cod. Jack Jordan was the host of a meet we called "Escape To The Cape." My favorite memory from that meet was the whale watch cruise. Take a look back.

I have been toying with the idea of hosting a meet in southern NJ. Only about 4-5 hour drive from CT/south MA, and 1/2 hour from Atlantic City for those who have never been there.
Have access to a 50 x 175 shop (maybe).
Figured i would see what goes on at a meet at Pat's "Duck Soup" meet and then see if i could pull it off.
Probably be in early to summer 2002 if I did it.
Anyways, would any of you be interested in this?

I have my eye on a place in Rockport, its a function hall that looks out on a very small, very famous building, The Motif #1 some may know it, most probably don't but they stake the claim that is the single most 'rendered' building in the world! (due to the large number of artists and galleries) . Rockport is a small seaside fishing community right next to Glouster, and the general area the definitive New England scene. I haven't contacted anyone on the room and have never orginized anything before so I would need help. Anyone?

Hey Mike Clayton, if you start it, I promise to help make it happen, I think we should have a bash at the beach sorta meet, maybe you can contact one of those nice huge firehouses down your way, with my backround in the firetruck biz maybe I can get us one or two demo firetrucks, especially if its just before a firetruck show somewhere. also maybe a few big rigs to stripe up with some paint or vinyl.
we can talk about this on the way to duck soup cuz im sure its gonna be at least a year before it would happen, besides, next international will prolly be in MARS. (pa that is)

HEY 'HEADS! IT'S A GO!!! All be it a small local event, Brian Mihelis at Adpro Signs in Peabody has offered up his shop for a 30-50 person 1-day meet. So here is what we got: Friday September 14th, Adpro Signs 15 Spring St. Peabody. Brian's place is pretty big and can acommidate a small group of about 50 so we are gonna try to cut it off there. Brian's next door neighbor is into street rods and it looks promising to get something cool, chopped hot rod to "do up". Also, Brian's Dad owns a cafe up the street and is being talked into providing lunch. I have talked with Howie at Zimmern sign supplies and he is willing to "help out a little bit" with some panels and paint. I am going to talk to a few guy about doing some demo's but we don't want to get too into sceduled events, more of a social gathering. So far we have kept the cost down and want to keep it that way. also niether Brian or I have ever hosted a meet, and between the 2 of us have been to 1 meet. So don't expect too much. Anybody who is in definetly can R.S.V.P me at conceptsign@yahoo.com or 978-745-5800
