Today is some kind of anniversery of the U.S. invading Canada way back when. I guess it wasn't meant to be, but it would have been nice to annex you guys as a 51 state, just to shut the Texans up about being the biggest, ehh!

Tell me something?
Do you know why the Capital Building is called the (White House)?

Maybe you should read your history first.
On the fact of invasion.

We'll do it again if you like!

Steph...

What are you trying to do...wake them up

They don't even remember what they did in retaliation to our bomb-fire party!

Those guys (our neigbours south of the Great Lakes) seem to think that they re-write history...and lately they have, but some things are forgotten. Me thinks that if they tried again they might have a better chance.

We are about to sell them our extra water and electricity, so be quiet

They already have our actors and comedians...used up our trees and wildlife and dumped acid rain on us....so why explain their history to them. If they cannot remember what they have done as a nation, sometimes it's best to let it go.

So Yanks...why is your Whitehouse...white?

(Historical footnote)

Canada had 3 Native Canadians for every 1 Englishman or Frenchman fighting against the "longknives" from the south.

Guerilla (?) tactics were introduced in that war, We would wait till they marched by and then attack from the rear, picking them off one by one. At the time it was "uncivilized" to do such a thing....now a part of war.

The English introduced "scalping" to North America.

I think it's funny that one of the first things we learned in history class, was how the Americans wanted to get us and yet they don't remember. Oh well, I guess if you have been in so many wars, as they have, in such a short time, you tend to forget some.

P.S. This station and it's producers are not responsible in any way for the editorial comment from above said individuals

Actually we DID invade Canada and held it for 48 hours, but the drinking, bad driving and language defeated us. We left with our tails between our legs.

Please don't take last post as disrespectful.

Close to me we have a historical site that is called "ST. Marrie by the Hurons". It is an Indian site from 1648 or something and displays all that an Indian village incorporated during those times would utilize.

I was just making fun of the fact that your company name holds historical signifigance in my area. Not to mention your name, but our best Prime Minister had the same first name> Any relation ?

Yup. It appears that all of the Ste. Marie's in Canada and the US are related. Even those from Alsace Lorraine. I always leave the "e" off the Ste. because the Amis call us the "Stee" Marie's.

Atta go boy, your comming out of the closet.

I should have said Ste.Marie, but no one would know what I was talking about.

Me thinks you are more "Canadian" than you are willing to admit!

Now if we could only get the Acadians to reply.

How about if I told you that my wife is Canadian? Yup. Born in Canada while her folks were on a work visa from England. She holds dual citizenship, but NOT from the US. When she applied for citizenship some 20 years ago she was told she'd have to go to Helena for english lessons! Can you believe that? She told THEM to go to "Helena".

Mark, I should have mentioned, my folks are from Europe. No roots in Canada.

C'mon back, Del. The darned things are all over the place. Between my son, daughter and me, we think we've shot around 200 so far. The darned burrows sure can be dangerous. They're like virtual cities under the surface.

Wood floors are great! I really want one in the control room in the recording studio. Sorry you left so quickly. Bad day for me, 'eh? Good to hear from you!

only good reason the U.S. could have for invading canada would be to put an end to celine dion and the song from titanic once and for all

So what is your slant on why the The name White House. We learn that Theodore Roosevelt officially gave it that name in 1901. As for the burning of the White House that is officially credited to the British.
By native Canadian I take it to mean native American one in the same. These were not the people defining boundaries.

Let's hear your take on the lands and lives stolen from the Acadians and the attempted genocide by the British on the people who created that thriving early Canadian society.

IMHO........We North Americans are all one people at heart. The differences are defined by the lowest of the low.....the politicians of the world. For some dumba$$ reason, we respond as if there's some credibility to the divisionist crap they spout.
Go figger.

Hmph.........
