I have a job that I want to do on the Edge. It will be Gerber gold reflective with black print for outlines and some fairly small graphics.

Then the customer asked, "How will this hold up to car wax?"

I immediately explained that you really shouldn't wax your vinyl graphics of any kind. But there will be the incidental overlap of the wax and vinyl. So here's the question:

Will the printed area (the black) hold up if it gets waxed a lot?

This will be on a fire truck so I am sure it will be waxed a lot. Thanks!

Amy, wax won't hurt it at all.

Wax is fine but they will need to use a soft toothbrush to remove the wax residue left behind afterwards.

Hi Amy,

Yes and no.

I have Edge prints holding up fine for most users and they wax over them.

Then there is this one guy who waxes every week and buffs it out with an electric buffer. His graphics have only been on a year and they are wearing out quick. I told him to stop waxing the print and just wax the rest of the vehicle. He isn't listening.

So, I have some mixed feelings on the waxing over any printed graphics.
