What is going on?
I can usually just ignore this box and go through about 2-3 posts before explorer locks up. I have to shut it down and open the browser again.
I uninstalled some stuff last night and started getting MSVCP50.dll is missing. I downloaded that, now I'm getting this error.
Please help before I reformat....

Just reinstall Internet Explorer- I think.
Mine was crapin' out on me ALL the time too and when I had finally had more than I could stand and had asked Heath to help me more times than I could count- I drug his little butt into my office and made him sit there with me until Internet Explorer did it's "thing"... of course like ANY machine it decided to behave itself when Heath was sitting there!!!! So there he sat until it did it- and then Heath reinstalled Explorer. heh heh heh
Now, in English he explained to me that with Windows those .dll files come with EVERY program you install and those .dll files weave their way into the Windows operating system thus changing or altering the operating system or other programs... you may have recently installed a program (even a little insignificant one) and it has "bumped" one of Explorers .dll files.
If you can wait a bit, I'll ask Heath tomorrow for the confirmation on this to make sure I'm giving you the right advice, but if you can't wait... reinstalling Explorer can't hurt. Defraging your hard drive is always an answer he gives me too, when my computer is getting blinky, but I have a sneakin suspicion that that instruction sometimes comes as his diversion until he's "ready" to "deal" with me.
Funny, when my Internet Explorer was farting around it wouldn't let me into certain sites (Email.com, snap.com, etc...) and it just bothered me, but when it cut me out of getting into Letterville that was the day I drug Heath over for immediate attention... addiction? Naaaaw!

I don't want to scare you, but I do remember a virus involving the Winsock32.dll something or another.
That one involved reformatting the hard drive.
I'll ask Heath to read this post....

Si told me last night I may be able to use the setup.exe file that is saved on the hard drive. Guess when they pre-install stuff they sometimes leave that (I hope I'm explaining it right. I just remember the directions Si gave me, not exactly the reasoning).
I always found that the dll had been involved with some viruses. I ran Norton the other day and found nothing. I'll try again.
Thanks everyone.
