What a blast that was! I had the greatest time hangin and working along side all my letterhead friends.
THere were wonderful pieces created that are hanging in Cornwall already as a legacy of the meet.
Best of all was talking signs for a couple of days with all my great friends.
Thanks to all who were there, all who helped me with the mural I lead and especially thaks to Nancy & Noella for making it possible!
It was fun!!

It was pure pleasure to lead one of the murals done there.
For me it started back at the beginning of the year when I was asked to do help out. Within days I got my package in the mail. On opening it I was amazed at the organization and obvious planning that had already had been done. Nancy had digitized the material and put it on a disk for me to peruse. Printouts of the pictures and background material was all there.
It was an easy task to put together the maquette for the project. THis was approved without any fuss and I was asked to forward colors for the paints I needed.
On my arrival at the meet a little early I went into the gym where we would be painting and EVERYTHING was ready. The blank "canvas" was there and in front of it was the paint stacked neatly in rows - all the colors I had asked for. The projector and cord, the scaffold, the ladders, everything I and everyone else needed to start the project.
NO FUSS what so ever.
It was a far cry from the vast majority of murals I have tackled over the years in every respect.
And the best part was yet to come!
From the opening moments the meet was about the true meaning of letterheads. Everyone was there to help and share their knowlege. Side by side were the legends of the sign industry along with the beginners and all us in between.
I saw old friends and made many new ones.
It was a happy event.
And everywhere I looked eye candy was being created before our very eyes.
I learned a great deal in the time I was there. About painting and especially about life. Thank you to all who were so generous to share their knowlege and experiences so freely with me. And thanks too to the generous folks who were kind enough to paint along with me on my mural and also to those who were kind enough to allow me to help out on their projects.
A special thanks again to Nancy & Noella for hosting the event.
I look forward with great anticipation to the next letterhead meet I am able to attend!

Dan was everything I had expected him to be and it was exciting to just be around him. Thanks Dan for your great positive attitude.
It was humbling to be able to work along side Gary Anderson. What a tremendous talent!
And Nancy and Noella. What words can you put together to express what they did for all the rest of us? "Thanks" just doesn't seem to say it all, but hopefully they get the message.
Nancy Bennett did her usually super job as MC and general encourager of all.
Each of these events leave me with a renewed appreciation for our craft and the ones who work so hard to keep the spirit alive. The entire four days I was there I didn't hear one discouraging word or complaint....at least, not one expressed seriously. My hat is off to all those who planned and put on this outstanding event.
Some of the most exciting memories are of the first timers who jumped in and caught the Letterhead spirit. There was an electricity in the air that is not easily defined.
In what other profession could you find people who are willing to take a week off from their business and family (and lose money), spend $1,000 or more, work their tails off for 15 hours a day, and then thank others for the privilege of loosing sleep? Ain't it great?
If you have never attended one of these you probably cannot understand the comments of those who do. At the next opportunity, do whatever it takes to get to one. It will change your outlook on this great profession.
