I have been busting my ars lately just in case I will have to have surgery coming up. Still don't know yet.
Anyways, I decided to do a project just for me, try some new things, experiment, yada, yada, yada.
I came up with an imaginary theme cafe, called, "The Radio Cafe". I started the design process and came up with one I was happy with. I wish I would have done a step-by-step, but didn't have the camara when I started production.
I am about half way done with it now. The main goal was to only use what I had in my shop, not go buy anything or use a panel I could sell on a job. I statred with a 1/2"x 2'x4' piece of MDO for the main panel. This piece was scratched real bad on one side.
I also incorporated some HDU in it as I laminated and carved an "old time" radio microphone. The word radio is raised off the main panel and is PVC that I cut and carved to shpe and then used various airbrush tech. on.
There is another panel that has the word "Cafe" on it and there is some ornimates also on the sign.
I hope to have it finished soon and will post a pic of the final product.
One Note, I have used HDU very little, but I think I am addicted to it now, GAWD it carves like a dream!!!! I love it!!!
Anyone else go off on a project for yourself??????

Im involved in an ongoing project with my truck.. I've been working on it about 4 years now, rebuilding the interior and installing killer audio systems, always coming up with new ideas and changing/rebuilding as I change my mind.
My latest undertaking with my truck though is probably the biggest one yet.. custom seats that will double as speaker enclosures and racks to hold amplifiers..
I've documented my progress on the pervious projects before but this time I am writing up a step-by-step. I havent finished building my prototype seat yet, seems lately I can only scrape up an hour here and an hour there to work on it.
