Hey, Ken Henry!

In the spirit of International co-operation, & the good will of Letterheads worldwide, how about giving us woefully un-informed-about-Canada Americans a few things your friendly country has brought the world.

I'll start with the few I know (which are probably wrong, anyway...)

*Bannock bread (popular on the rez...)
*duck stew (ditto...)
*John Candy (the actor...)

Well, that's my list, how about you cannucks, eh?

The MacIntosh apple traveled to Canada to acquire it's name. My grandmother's parents owned the apple, which won the county fairs in southern Indiana. One day a man came to them and negotiated to graft his tree with theirs and would call this apple the MacIntosh apple. All the tree grafters here say it came from Canada because that is where the grafting took place.
"Touch not the cat, bot a glove!" is our heritage from our family of the Scots. My great Uncle Frank MacIntosh retired to Canada from being the president of Northern Ohio University in Ada after 20 years. He died in Canada the year my son graduated from high school.
I guess you would call the MacIntosh apple Canadian-American.

America gave the world a President who "smoked but didn't inhale". Canadians gave the world an Olympic Gold Medalist in Snowboarding, who inhaled...but didn't smoke.

Well, that's their story, and apparently they're both sticking to it!
