I have seen those same cameras on ebay before. if i remember right, they were around $60 or $70 each. You should check that out before you buy from this other place, sometimes you can get things for a really good price on ebay.

I have an X-cam, and it's pretty good for the price. You don't get mind blowing resolution from these things, but if all you want to do is monitor a few locations then the 3 pack deal works good. You can get about 100 feet line-of-sight distance with decent image clarity. But once you start having walls in between you and the reciever, the range diminishes. THey do work quite well though. They also have a built in mic.

Pretty durable things too: I put one on a radio controlled car and rolled the thing over a ton of times (the car is gas powered and weighs about 8 lbs, so it really crashed hard). Still works fine.

Kewl Frenchy! hahaha!

I was gonna just put one on my monitor (which is in the "easel room"), one in the shop and one out back on the deck so the fence post easels could be seen.

Walls huh? That doesn't sound too meet friendly. I wanted to go through the walls hehehe.

I'm not saying that it doesn't go through the walls...cuz it does. But you're not going to get the same range.

Linda,

I love x-10 products, you should try the firecracker deal they have as well.

You can controll sockets, light switches, appliances from a remote control and or computer programed software.

Damn you can control your whole house from another location through the telephone. Not to mention check on the shop through your cams through the internet.

They sell x-10 products at Radio Shack for a lot more so the prices they have on the web site are pretty good.

Good Luck and have fun.

Bob and anyone else that may use/end up using the firecracker module:

Please have a look at my firecracker app: it controls firecracker modules and replaces the bulky x10 supplied interface. It's skinnable too!

It can be found at:

Bob thank you, I will have fun either way!

And shane, the wall issue is about going through a fireplace to the deck from downstairs to see about a hundred feet (91'8") from side to side from 15' in the air.
