you have your business/home phone shared with surfing the net you may be interested in CALLWAVE. I have just started and it seems to be a valuable service.

For 1.65 a month for enhanced call forwarding(thru your phone service) you can recieve messages while you surf.

So far no "catches" to the free service.

I've been using callwave for about six months ricky. No hidden charges, etc., but the little bar on your screen constantly shows ads. No problem though, and they recently added caller id, so you can see where the call is coming from. It's a neat service.

thanks for the input John.

And Michael...its like having an answering machine on screen. As soon as someone calls you you will hear the message and the message will be stored to be deleted or listened to again.

I have 2 phone lines so I called to see what happens from the callers perspective. The phone rings and they are told that I have CALLWAVE and to leave a message.

Between me and my 2 sons being on the net we can tie up the phone line for lengthy periods, so it is a valuable resource for me.

I have one on my line as we speak.

It's called ICM (Incoming Call manager)
A pager icon pops up and tells myself the callers Name, Address, and Phone number.

I have the oppion to take the call or store the call or ignore the call...
(a playback of a real voice will let the caller know my intentions)

All for $4.95 a month through my Phone services!
