Hi Heads!
Recently a customer came into my shop with a beautiful 99 extreme s-10 black with all the fancy add ons. I laid out a white checkered flag design with some tribal art accents in purple. Im planning on using the Avery luster looks Amethist (purple) for the tribal accents. This is where my question comes in. To anyone who has ever used it, Is it bright enough to show up on the black? What kind of life do you get out of it? and does it cut the same as high performance cast?
I was thinking about using the irridecent green/purple instead but im not too sure if that will show good on the black either. Then i had the idea of using the lighter shade of violet metallic that avery makes also. Suggestions would be great!
Thanks,
Ryan

I've got my new Avery color book here..

I see one shade of purple metallic, one shade of purple Ultra Metallic, one shade of Luster/Pearl purple, and then two of the Shade Shifters involving purple (Cyan/Purple and Green/Purple).

The shade shifters gotta be placed on curves to make the effect stand out, otherwise it's just 3X the material cost for a muddy looking graphic.

The Luster Amethyst and metallic purple wont stand out against black, but maybe that's OK for a more subtle and clean look.

The Ultra Metallic Amethyst will definitely stand out against the black, it's a pretty bright color.

According to Avery's book, they're all at least 5 year films.

I have some of the Green/Purple luster looks and it is really cool. Not to disagree with Mike, but curves are Not necessary to see the effect. I am putting this material on the side of my shop van in a broad stripe. It should be attention getting!

Thanks guys!
Ill post pics when i finish. I am going to go with the amethist. Though not too bright on the black it will be a decent accent color.

Barry, I guess I'm desensitized to the chameleon/shade shifter stuff.. probably because I see so much of that paint on vehicles around here (Arizona, show car/truck central) I'm sick of it. That, and the tire/wheel glitter.. ugh.. and I thought the guy that wanted holographic polyester strips on his wheels was a goofball.. hehehe.
