I jumped on the CD10 Service Pack in hopes it might solve a couple small issues. Bad idea; at least as it relates to my stuff. Printing of complex documents, preparing PDFs and PostScript files for service bureau output is pretty much toast. Less complex, one-page documents seem to print OK. But, that's about it.
Maybe this is not an issue in sign-making terms, but for those doing desktop or web publishing, I'd advise staying away from the CD10 Service Pack 1 (it's sent me back to using CD9).

If you do much scan-and-trace, going to CD9 is a must. The interface in 9 is nearly identical to 8 ... so no learning curve. And CorelTRACE 9 is waaaaaaaaay improved over 8,7,6...
9 is also super stable, and getting cheaper now the 10 is out. Software Outlet is selling OEM 9 (discs only) for $80 (US ... ~$120 Cdn).

Yes; 10 was OK before the SP1 debacle. I had some screen redraw problems (had to hit Ctrl-W every few minutes), but that was the only really noticable problem that I was tyring to resolve with the Service Pack. I was even able to PDF our upcoming catalog, for direct-to-plate printing on a web offset press (360 MBs!), and it Ripped without a hitch.
So, going back to 9 was a supreme act of laziness on my part. I'll whack and reinstall 10 this weekend. Thanks again for the suggestion!
Have a great weekend,
Jim

I've only had version 10 for about 10 days so it is too early to make any recommendations to Donna!!!!!!
Some may wonder why we put ourselves through the agony but the answers are simple..First if we don't have the latest version, then we can't open files that are sent to us (that's the excuse I use! LOL). Second, We HAVE to have the latest!!!! Third, what better excuse to justify buying a new motherboard and the very newest processor, just to be able to run as fast as you did 10 years ago!
I know! I know! brushes run at the same speed as they did 100 years ago! (that's for Si! 0

I break with my fellow Mac users, on this subject, as I would rather gargle glass shards, than be bogged down by Illustrator.
