Good day all, I've been asked to carve a bottle of motor oil out of styrofoam & have a 2 questions:

1. what glue can i use to stick several sheets of foam together without it melting?

2. What do I coat it with to make it smooth?(figerglass or other)

Thank you all in advance, Felix

Fiberglass will melt the foam but you can use epoxy to glue the foam together, it's safe for the foam.

There are fillers you can get that will thicken the epoxy into a paste so it can be used to smooth the surface.

I dont know what kind of materials you have available in Puerto Rico, but you can check out http://www.shopmaninc.com to get an idea of epoxies, thickeners, etc. that are out there.

I dunno, man. I'm not a styrofoam guy. Why not use 3 wood discs and bend 2mm Sintra around them? Faster and classier looking too. Accepts paint and film logos better.

Hey Pierre....they stopped putting motor oil in cans a long time ago! Now they use blow molded flat bottles !

Some day they will finally arrive in Montana!!

PS They make great target!

Thanks Pierre, but it has to be a whole bottle. I may have not fully understood your response.

Mike, thank you also. I requested their catalog. If epoxy is a go, I got a ton of west systems here. Thanks again to ya both.
