Ian Wilson is trying to identify a couple different typestyles with characteristics similar to his sketch below. Can you help?

Here's his actual request...

"Steve could you please post these two fonts for me to see if anybody can identify them? I have never come across them before and the customer does not know what they are. I have been through my fairly extensive font library and I can't find them. Thanks Ian"

Steve thanks for posting this if anybody can identify these for me it would be very much appreciated also if anybody can tell me where I can purchase these two fonts it would be even better as I have 25 signs to do with them and maybe even more these will be reflective so they will have to be machine cut to get a good reproduction in quantity thanks in advance for ant help

Ian,

I'm going to assume that there will be more words on these signs in these type styles than the word Drayton, correct?

Off the top of my head, I don't know...

That doesn't help you any I know, but this link might! I just went through every one of the 1001 fonts here this past Friday, and I do remember seeing a few that had these characteristics, but no font names are jumping out at me this minute- if any strike me upside the head while I'm working in the yard, I'll come back and post them.

Yes there will be a lot of wording regarding the history of the area and some pictograms of the places we are talking about each sign will be 6ft by 4ft and 4ft bt 4ft

They are not "regular" fonts Ian as far as I know. Look like hand-written stuff to me.

If you got a lotta lettering to cut in reflective .. I'll hand letter it so you can scan and cut from that!

Worth a try?

Ian, The top sample is a dead ringer for a copy that I hand drew for the heading of our school newpaper in Journalism 35 years ago. It must have existed somewhere in the archives of our libraries there, or I had more imagination than I thought. I will keep thinking about it, but don't believe it has been drawn into computer font. Would you accept something similar? Jack
