Hi there fellow Sign Makers,

I am in the middle of pricing out a 4 x 8 erasable marker board. To describe the workmanship of this board, would be as follows: The board will have a pile of lines on it running up and down creating a three part chart. In the first column of each of the three charts will have a color backgrounds. Part numbers will fill the chart. with spaces to follow, so they can use a marker to write in the order of the day.
It is a very time consuming job that has me stumped to know what to charge. Would love to hear from those here in the Kitchener,Ontario/ London,Ontario/ Area

Steve...I have no idea about the cost of the actual board material but the rest of the stuff sounds like about $350. I would probably use pinstriping tape to do all the lines. Maybe use reverse panel for the coloured parts, letting the colour of the board show as the lettering?

I've sold these anywhere from $400.00 to $600.00, depending on the complexity (I've made them where they've included plastic sheet holders, steel panels for magnets, etc.) Time and material is the only way to figure these. I use white enamel board (a particle board with a white enamel finish) and trim them out with the white plastic "J" channel the lumberyard sells for it. I lay out the grid pattern in the computer, then weld the lines. I then cut the grid out of 30" cast vinyl and panel it, if necessary. Sounds like with the colored areas and part numbers, I'd want around $450.00.
