Thanks for the well wishes, guys. My wife is very disturbed that this was posted. I'll bow to her wishes. It may have been bad judgement. Sorry

Scary post, Pierre. Do you think anti-gun groups will use this story? Those St. Marie's seem to be of good stock. Glad it turned out okay.

Pierre,
Happy to hear Rosemary is ok. It's good she get away for a few days to heal her mind. I for one, feel that any responsible, law abiding person has the right to carry a gun. This was definitely a case that proves that having the right to defend yourself can detour illegal acts and she didn't even have to use it. If he wasn't going to try something why would he take off like that and if he honestly just wanted to meet her, why not wait till 8 or 9am instead of 5am.

My oldest daughter and granddaughter live in Yakima, Washington. She just had to move due to break-ins. She's had her car broken into and her home. Her neighbors have all been broken into and one of them was beaten in the middle of the night with a crow bar. How can anyone want to live in fear for their family. This world is full of all kinds of people. Many good ones like here on this board, but there are some with no respect for others or their property. Without the right to defend yourself and your family we would all be in trouble.

I feel pretty safe on this board but usually I don't give all my information openly on websites because of all the spam. Now I know I won't.

Tell Rosemary she did the right thing and to chalk one up for the good guys. Glad she's safe.

The obvious solution to this would be a family gathereing to all pull handguns and simultaneously shoot the computer!

Geez, Rick, you came close. I surely considered it. Thank you all for your sentiments. I'm a happy man this morning, but all of this has given me pause to consider this internet stuff. She may have gone her whole life without having to have touched her sidearm except for target fun. It frightened her badly. She and I have a lot of talking to do about the "what ifs" when she returns. In theory, firearm self defense is bantered about quite freely with all kinds of hypotheticals. In fact, leveling a sidearm at another human being is quite a different story, one I pray she will NEVER have to repeat.

That's a sobering story allright. Glad she's OK, it sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders. She sure has a good reliable firearm, I have the Kimber in the Custom Classic. Excellent choice ! Not many gals would pack a .45 but if I was a gal I wouldn't go too far without something. Come to think of it, I don't anyway.

You have to wonder what goes on in the mind of some dirtbag that would stalk someone.
Why go to alot of trouble for someone they still don't really know, they would have more familiarity with a grocery clerk or something. Maybe it's the going on a mission that is part of it ? Who knows.

What is really sad is that there is no law against it !!! If there was there's probably nothing that would happen anyway. Just recently in this state some liberal judge let some scumbag go when she was fully aware of threats, beatings, stalkings and many court appearances. She first lowered his bail to the point that he could go back on the street, did some more abuse to his ex, came back in and she overruled another judge and let him go without even posting bail ! He murdered the gal and her sister. This was even a bit much for the liberal mecca of the Northwest and she had to step down.

I'm really glad that it turned out "okay"
I use the word okay because she was shaken up and she was'nt physically hurt...
But I still Don't like guns, but I do understand why you guys in the states need them.. This case in point. It's a good thing she did'nt have to fire the bloody thing, Good for her, she showed restraint, I know a lot of cops that would'nt have shown that much control..

Hey Pierre and Rosemary,

As a father I am so proud of your daughter, and you for instructing her through the early tender years to learn how to take care of herself. It is a wonderful story and I'm pleased to hear that everything is OK.

May God continue to bless you and your family.
