Anybody have any tips you can share when it comes to putting window tint on over slightly curved back windows.. of a new chev van? My installer is not an expert on this stuff and that includes yours truely. Neil

I've done tinting on my own vehicles and friends vehicles without too many problems.
With very slightly curved glass you might get away with just getting it very wet and squeegeeing it out.
Otherwise, the tint needs to be cut into manageable strips and applied in multiple pieces. That's how tinters do the wickedly curved glass on autos.

There are plenty of "how to" sites on the web. Seems you can place the tinting on the outside of the curved glass to cut to fit, then using a heat gun or hair dryer, heat it to conform to the shape of the glass. Then install on the inside of the glass, of course.
Keep in mind, I haven't tried this and only read it on one of those online sites. So, I guess you could call this "un-advice". But does make sense.
Did some searching and found a site that explains what I tried to explain above.

Don is rite,, we do a fair amount of auto tint ... you can only heat shrink the film one way.... upper and lower sides... first make the fingers uniform with your hand to get them manageable.... using a heat gun apply heat until finger turns into a xmas tree look... than apply your squeege... or at beginning use just your hand to gently get smaller.... if it is too curved we do the window in 2 pieces... let me know what kind of vehicle it is and i'll try and help out more....
