Ian,

Not being a Signlab user I can only offer a guess on the subject. However, I am sure some people on this board will back me up on this one. It’s Gerber’s fault! All problems in life are directly related to OMEGA. (Tongue in cheek folks, relax)

I have had no luck with uprgrades past rev. 6.1
A slow load time is one I found too, among others, so I am using an earlier revision now.

Hi,Ian
Been using SL5, rev.6.3 for some time now, and have not had the trouble you describe, or any other for that matter. It sounds as tho' the problem might be in Windows, or possibly your hard drive is cluttered up with temp files from net-surfing. I run Maintenance Wizard as often as once a day just to clear out the clutter. My 'puter is only a P2 with 450Mhz chip and 192 of RAM, so it isn't state of the art by any stretch.
Also, there were references earlier to computers bogging down, and there were suggestions in that thread which might help. Good luck.

Hi Ian,
I just upgraded to 6.3 yesterday, like you it fixed somethings, not it won't print.
It does seem to run about the same speed,I guess I'm just tired of something always not quite working as it should.
I would just like to turn it on in the morning, and have it work the way it did 24 hours earlier !!

Hi,Bob--
I ran into the "wont print" bit also when I went to rev. 6.3 Trying to use the "print" icon in the upper left wouldn't let me get past "print setup", and the "print" button had disappeared altogether. Tech support f
ound the problem to be a screen resolution set too low (640x480). The "print" button was out of sight up in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Changing the resolution one notch higher brought the "print" button back into view, but it also made everything a bit smaller. Something my tri-focaled eyes didn't appreciate. Anyway, most of the time I leave resolution at 640x480, unless I want to print. I am assuming you are talking about your desktop printer and not an Edge type of device. Hope this helps.
One additional note-- just for the fun of it, I timed how long SL5 rev. 6.3 took to load-- is approximately 15 seconds considered slow?

I'm using SL5 v6.2 Takes forever to load & has never liked printing to my laser printer. If it prints at all, it takes forever.
The latest problems i've been having is when i'm editing a complicated piece of art, the editing tools change sometimes, while i'm editing. Screws up my train of thought. I save VERY often too & some times when i come back to it, some of the nodes I have move or deleated, are back. It's going on a new puter this weekend too.
That's my 2 cents worth. I love the program, have been using it since '92 & can't waite to see SL6.

well, I found that I still had ver. 5.3 loaded, as the new update loaded itself under cadlink. this created a resource problem and it made my selected fonts stack up. but all were minor problems compared to gerber stuff LOL Those temp files will get you too.
and If you use internet on the same pc, set the prefs to empty cache daily.
Bill
