Hiya 'Heads,

It's finally warming up in Oklahoma, and peeling the van (I'm sick of it after 3 years & I don't feel it conveys the "image" I'm after).

I checked out the logo contest that was done here for "Creative Signs & Screen Printing". I also visited "Dan Antonelli's" site, some real cool stuff!

Does anyone have any other suggestions for websites that I might glean a little bit of inspiration from?

Thanks a Million!

Hey Coop! I have been doing the same thing. I removed all the letters on my truck and am in the process of designing a new logo. I think the best thing is just to get started...I have done about 5 different desgins....and they were all to 'frilly'. Sometimes simple is the best. Good luck!

There's a designer in my area by the name Walter Kostinak, or Kostinack. His company name is 2Design. For some reason my search engine won't pick up his site, perhaps it doesn't exsist anymore. Whenever I needed some inspiration, I loved looking at his site. His designs reflected very individual ideas.

Sorry to bait you with this, but if you can somehow get his site to work, you'll be in for a treat. He's designed stuff for lots of computer games, such as Quake. He also won an internet cash award for his internet site.

Good luck Coop! Designing for ourselves is the hardest project ever, isn't it?

hey coop,
the hardest thing to do is design something for yourself!

i have struggled with his over the years.

with any design i look and digest everything i can.... such as product labels and candy wrappers for color ideas and different typestyle ideas.

i go to the movies and if the signage is great, i have to see it a second time just to catch the story line!

keep dem eyes open and you will see the color scheme and layout.

good luck bubba,

mark

Thanks Kelli! I've missed that inspiration when needed. He'd been offline for awhile while building his new site.

Check it out. You won't be sorry guys.

Hi Coop.
Check out Bill Krupinski's new website, www.artfirststudio.com. It's very inspiring!
Also, whenever I try to do something for myself, I tend to get carried away. Naturally tacky by nature, I throw on all the bells and whistles. Then, after all that design time, it's busier than a cat trying to cover crap on a marble floor! Keep it simple. Good luck! I'm ready to peel my truck already!!!
Love...JILL

Coop, whenever I am designing for myself, and it feels like I have used everything already, I usually wait until after hours, go through issues of Signcraft, and some of my past designs and try and put something together. I like to change my logo, etc. ever so often so it doesn't get stale. Nothing like a new sign on a vehicle to attract business. I might use elements form seven or eight designs that I like, in order to come up with something that I want to use. I design in black and white first, and then add color to match the vehicle or whatever I am putting it on. I just recently decided to change my business name to Deaton Design, so I am going through the same process you are. What to do, what to do. Usually just a peek at some of our heads websites is all I need to get that creative blood going. Do it and have fun Coop. Be sure and post a pic when you get it done. I know we'd all like to see it.
Check this out too:

By the way, Dan Antonelli designed the sites for Rich and Brian. Great job too.
