Has anyone out there ever tried a product from EcoQuest intl. ( formally Alpine) it's an air purifyer that I'm told really works ( by the manufacture) I would really like to hear from anyone that has actually used the product. Does it remove paint fumes?

I have two in my home and a large 6-plater in my 24'x36'shop. These create ozone which is a natural air purifer. But there is really nothing like an open window for fresh air.

Hey Alex, these are great units as well as the smoke eater but they aren't cheap. You should check out body shops for used units as well.
I have a couple of Alpines myself which I use in my paint room as well as exiting the herb smell.......

I recently bought the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Quadra.

It's been their best selling item of all time. And there's good reason why. It works incredibly well at removing all kinds of gross junk that you never realized was floating around in the air you breathe.

Yes, it's expensive. But yes, it's worth it. I don't work for them nor do I get a commission from telling you this, but if you can get one and try it out for a couple weeks, you'll be absolutely shocked at what it takes out of the air.

I have to clean mine every two weeks because of the amount of crud it collects. It's not time consuming or difficult to clean and each time I clean it I think - wow... this crap could have wound up in my lungs.

If anyone's interested, I'll take a digital pic of the filter/collector plates before I clean them again so you can see how much junk it really removes.

Regarding Alpine, they may similarly remove contaminants from the air but I think their collector plates are not as large as the ones in the Sharper Image unit. Also, Alpine was warned/fined by the Federal Trade Commission for giving misleading statements (about their product) which had no scientific proof. You can read about them on the FTC web site. I have nothing against Alpine and I know tons of people love their product. They just need to tone down their claims or provide proof.

From my understanding of the product made by Alpine Industries, it's available just about worldwide by independent distributors.

The product made by Sharper Image can most likely be found on their web site at sharperimage.com or call them for international orders at 1-650-344-4444
(I got this info out of my catalog from them)
They have a toll free number but I bet it's for US calls only. Give it a try - 1-800-344-4444
