I understand you being unnerved by this.
If someone used my name to post elsewhere on the web than was of my own choice, I'd be quite ruffled also. They are calling it a favour. I call it a violation.
I'm quite disappointed with the moderator's
reaction regarding the matter on that thread.
My appreciation for Letterville is certainly renewed.

At least he "politely" hates your guts. I got so much vile, foul-mouthed e-mail from him that I had to have him blocked. The guy is a sociopath, IMHO.

Letterville is very different from other "sign industry" Forums.
1. All of us are required to have our real names and e-mail addresses on all our posts. In fact, anyone registering to post in Letterville, has their e-mail verified. It's very important that we all know who we are talking too.
2. Letterville has a goal and purpose. We exist to promote a group of people that choose to call themselves Letterheads and/or Pinheads. We like to get together in person and do things together at our live meets. We have a family thing going that is unique to Letterville.
3. Letterville was started by signmakers for other signmakers. It is not financed or controlled by suppliers that may have a different perspective on the sign industry than small signmakers. What is good for our suppliers and manufacturers is not always good for us.
So what do we do when others toss tomatoes and other garbage at us?
We can do exactly what they hope we will do and sink to their level, or we can renew our energy and do more of what they hate most. Let's all continue to be the class act that we have all built here in Letterville. together.

I can relate to your statement, "I never get any more than 2, maybe 3 tops, responses to any of my posts." and me being statistically minded... I did a quick search and found this:
Since October 29, 1999 you have posted to 28 subjects.
19 of them were just your responses to other peoples posts.
You started 8 different questions of which you got a range from 3 to 18 responses to each. Your median count was 8 responses.
The low end results came from questions like "O/T what does this mean?" or "Do the paint advertisers post here?". Both were questions that can be answered by doing the "search" yourself, but people here were nice enough to answer you anyway.
The high end results came from you asking people to share advice on what not to do when you open your shop, to how to paint a tank. You got lots of very detailed answers on those.
One post where someone else started a question and was getting answers, you asked 2 or 3 questions of your own to the original poster... and he and a few other guys chipped and answered your questions within his post.
Looks to me based on these rough statistics, via a quick search, that you are getting answers here and responses.
There were two statements that you had started a post on and got low responses on them. Statements are just that and do not require a response. However you got one nice response and 2 comments.
Do you see what I am doing here? I thought that "no one liked me here" and that I "wasn't worth responding to" here on the BB until I figured out I was asking questions that could be answered in one response OR I wasn't asking a question at all! It was me, and I feel it may be what many others may thinking too, but aren't stating it. They do answer your "questions" here and they do all like you... until you insult them.
If anyone out there is "feeling" the same thing, take a look at your numbers doing a search on your user name and then take a look at how you phrase your questions... if it really is a question. A lot of mine turned out to be just statements after all.
Yes I was bored and had some free time, but I also had something to share that I learned about this Board.

I waited too long! I had my reply cooked up in my head. But without your posts there, I'm not sure I could make much sense.
One thing I still can't get my head around, (maybe I'm just stupid). If the admin. checked the IP address, and he knows who it isn't, why will he not share who it is? What is he hiding? After all, someone used your name, and e-mail in a public forum. You were chastised for replying to this in that same public forum. If some do-gooder out there was really looking out for you, and wanted to do you a favor, why could he/she not do it through e-mail?
This is just a pattern with these folks, they say one thing then do another. When someone calls them on it, the "troublemaker"
name gets thrown around.
They know that they can't survive without us, and doing every little dirty trick they can.
I just like to think of them as the "syphillis" board.....everytime you think it's gone, there it is to irritate the "S&*t" out of you!
