Anyone out there know of a manual to go by for pricing on signs here in Canada? As a sign manager in a service bureau I have yet to get this down in a good fashion for my superiors to go by. They make jokes when I bring up the official sign contractors pricing guide. They say they cannot go near the high pricing in this book. I will only lose my job if they were to use this as a guide. I have no problem with the way it is presented but it will not work for this company. I have yet to convince them that this is a good manual to go by.

From what I've read here, even US sign shops find most of the prices to be high for their areas. We don't have a recent version of the guide, but we used to use it more as a "proportional gauge" of pricing on various items. We usually considered the pricing to be at par (or even a little high)...so instead of multiplying by 1.5 to get Canadian dollars, we ended up using the US price as if it were Cdn.
I won't comment much further because I haven't seen any recent versions of the guide, but that's how we use the old one...when we use it at all.
I'd love to see a similar guide done for the Canadian market...but even that, I'm sure, would be skewed to the high side by the Toronto market.
