I'm fixing to reverse weed vinyl for a detailed graphic on white aluminum. I usually scuff the surface with fine sand paper before one shot to get some bite.
But with small detail in the graphic I won't be able to sand without ruining the vinyl. Is there a store bought primer I can sponge brush on prior to painting?
My only other option is to edge print (which I sub out), But I hate digital printing as it's not intended for long time sun exposure, plus you get that .125 white vinyl border around it.

Primer needs a sanded surface as well for maximum adhesion. How about this?.Sand the whole area,mask and paint and then clear the whole thing?Add some hardener to the oneshot then touch lightly with a scotchbrite pad.Then apply clear. Dont forget a good quality breathing device
If it's aluminum with a baked white finish prep it like you would a truck door, One Shot will stick fine. A scotch brite pad used lightly shouldn't bother the vinyl either, if you can weed it you can scotch brite it.

Forget the scuffing and sanding ...go to your local automotive store and buy a quart of "Mid Coat Adhesion Promoter" it is clear and can be applied over the mask...simply spray it on wait 10 minutes or so and paint right over it...paint will hold like iron...I use it when ever I have to paint anything on a vehicle or a panel that can't be sanded.
The product I use is made by Dupont in their Centari line...
"Werks fer me it'll werk fer you"... By the way, why are you using One Shot for this application... seems like a job for automotive paint.
