Here's the flame job I've been working on:

Flames are yellow vinyl airbrushed using red and blue OneShot. The number 20 is also airbrushed onto yellow vinyl and applied to a magnetic.

Here's a close up of the side:

And one of the hood:

THIS is my very first job, using an airbrush!

Those of you following my posts on the BB know, I've been working on this for a month now. Thanks so much for your replys to my questions, phone calls and chat sessions! I'm proud!

During my learning curve, it seems like I've encountered every known problem that could have possibly occurred! What a lesson!

Here's a closeup pic of a ridge in the hood that tapered down to flat:

I warned the customer that this might happen and it sure did. I cut a small slit in the vinyl and used a hair dryer to help it conform.

Thanks again for all your help!
Cher.

HI Cheryl,

I posted on your other post!....Nice job, I see from the front grill that its Mini Clubman, those that had a squarer front, a leftover from the reign of British Leyland over Austin & Morris car companies. I also see it still has the UK licence plates, is that a K that it ends in? If it is it would make it a 1972 model, as in the UK we used to change our prefix letter each year to show car age.

Cheryl, you can help eliminate that problem with the vinyl by pre-stretching it slightly while the release paper is still intact,
just place it over the hump, taped down of course, and squeegee hard to make it conform, then remove release paper and apply, I do this when going over rivets too.

Looks Great Cheryl!!! And just think how much easier the next job is going to be, now that you have figured out how to avoid almost every known problem that can occur!
