From a non-user perspective, some of the differences are obvious. Price difference, speed, and resolution on small type. As general user what are your thoughts about the two models if used in a low to medium (edge work)volume production situation.
Any thoughts and comments would be welcomed.
Cheers,

I have the old Edge and it works fine for the volume I do. However, I am trying to increase my volume of Edge printed work so if I were just buying now I would go with the Edge 2. The increased resolution doesn't seem to be as big of an issue as the speed. Most of the time 300 dpi and the small type are fine on the old Edge. Just my thoughts.

Having owned both, if you have the money, get the Edge-2. While you may feel like you are only going to do a low to medium volume, you will become surprised how much you will use it for other things.

That's been my experience anyhow.

I agree with Glenn, You think a low/med. volume will turn into Med./High Vol. I also agree that 300 dpi is about all you need for most prints. I never had an Edge on an Edge 2. One thing to keep in mind, Gerber foils at full retail are still 30% cheaper then HP Vinyl So 2 color Vehicle jobs are more cost effective than vinyl on vinyl not just saving the 30% but also only weeding once & no mistakes aligning the 2 pieces of vinyl.
Good Luck

One thing to keep in mind...

If you buy an Edge II today...they'll come out with an Edge III tomorrow.
