A friend of mine is taking a class which will consist of designing/creating a website. He wants to use my sign business as his project. The site will not be functional to begin with however I may choose to use it in the future therefore I would like to have some input in the project.

I have seen some great sites here and am sure the advice I can get here will be the best.

So how can I use my design skills to help him along. I realize web design software will be necessary for him but I would like to give him a "jumpstart".

My question is can I design something in corel draw 7 and save it in a certain format for him to use with the website software(Front Page... I think) that he will be using at school.

If so what file size and format do I save it as? And what page size do I use ?

How about colors? Do I use certain colors such as process, rgyb, etc?

Thanks in advance fellow letterheads,

Ricky

your best bet would be, to do your designs in draw then bring them into paint (or any bitmap editor) and adjust the "pixel" size.

a 1" image at 300 pixels per inch will be the same as a 4" image at 75 pixels per inch on the screen.
after you have the physical size then you can work on the file size using jpg or gif export at different levels of compression
