Most of you don't know me so I thought I'd toot my own horn a little here. I feel honored to have my work in such a quality oriented publication. I know my design ability isn't up to the level of Janette Balogh, Jack Murray and the other greats in there, but I also know I don't have any less passion for my work. Doing the best we can and striving to learn more and improve are a big part of what SignCraft and the Letterheads are about. I don't even do my best a lot of the time. My new years resolution is to never hurry. I'm already doing fewer jobs and taking my time more. I have not been to Letterhead meets because I can't be around any paint fumes. I used to really miss the feel of a brush but in the last few years I've explored so many new areas that I don't think about it much anymore. I thought I was destined to be a sign painter but life threw me a curve a few years back. But there are no mistakes (maybe thats true). I'm enjoying my work more than ever. My friend Dave Yant (author of That Wacky Sign Shop in SignCraft) letters for me occasionally. He's a die hard sign painter and he recently got his first computer so I'm trying to get him to join us on this site. I want to thank all of you for inspiring me these past couple of years on this site and before this in SignCraft.

I am honoured to share the pages of this month's issue with you Chuck. A nice way to start the year isn't it? If that doesn't give us a kickstart for the rest of the year, I can't imagine what else would! It's quite a boost. I really enjoyed what I saw of your work!
How 'bout a toast? Here's to getting better along the way, making money all the while, and maintaining a passion for what we do!
Keep up the good stuff, and the good attitude Chuck!

Congratulations Chuck! I am so impressed! I got my curves too, (not those kinda curves Joe Pribish!) I've never made into SignCraft, but I sure have drooled over them. I'm excited for you! Way to go!

Chuck,Nettie, way to go! I want to see it! Alas, I travel to buy my supplies and magazines because I buy a couple every now and then. I happened to get the Signcraft anniversary issue, not knowing you guys were in the other. Until I get one, could someone post the article for us that won't get it for a bit? We would love to see it! I emailed Nettie too. sincerely, Deb

Chuck, Great work! (you too, Janette & Jack) Hope to someday get my act back together, (that is one of my new year's resolutions) seems every year I get busier and farther behind, I like you're attitude about learning to say NO! Looks like I need to do some serious weeding (and not in vinyl) and eliminate some more of the problem customers that wait 'til the last minute to place their order. Sorry to hear about your allergies to enamels, the water-based paints just don't feel and handle as well to me for lettering. Keep strokin' (er mousin')

Thanks for the nice comments. The only thing they got wrong is where it says "He's enjoyed every step of the way" Hahaha
