I have the PNC 1210 working.... well at least I did cut out my name from corel.
I am trying to load a little piece of vinyl about 6"x8". I hit "Piece" in the menu, then "Setup", the cutter scans the edges, then takes off and throws the piece on the floor. I'm loading it on the side with the little eye on it.(sensor?)...
I would really like to learn on smaller stuff so I quit wasting material. The first little box I cut was weird, it ran out about 6' of material then cut the box. That is when I decided to start using some pieces.
Thanks!

My roland cam1 has dpi switches on the side of the machine. I have to switch the dpi switch from roll to piece before I power on the cutter. I usually don't need to do that for a piece the size you are talking.
I would load it over the sensor, then hit the setup key for the machine to measure the width. Make sure before you cut, to hit the plotter setup and select "get page size". This tells your computer what size the vinyl is. If you don't do this, it assumes whatever piece you used last time is still the same width. Also, dave is right, you HAVE to hit the origin set button, or the cutter advances your vinyl a long way before it starts cutting.
Another note, my cutter has 2 sensors, one you can see in the front, and another one behind it about 3 inches.
I hope this helps, I don't know if your cutter works the same as mine.
