When a 2 mil film isn't neccessary (like small decals and bumper stickers) what kind of calendered vinyl is everyone using in their Edge? I've been using Oracal 651 but I'm open to suggestions/hints/tips etc...

Anyone try the new Avery 5 year vinyl in the Edge yet?

Brian,

We pretty much used Spar-Cal (made by Avery) until they sold out. Now we use FDC and I like it better!

Big graphics in Spar-Cal had to be put on wet with application fluid. We are finding that with FDC the application fluid is not always necessary, and sometimes makes it worse.

I pretty much stick with Gerber Quantum 2000 or 4000. It seems to be cleaner, sealed in a plastic bag and dust free. I never see smashed insects or cigarette butts inside the roll.

I too like the Quantum 2000. It's heavy enough for smaller decals to be applied without a premask and prints very well.

I use Promo Plus when HP isn't needed I had 3 rolls of Quantum with bad marks on the roll & they kept sending me replacement rolls but it got to be a concern on long prints. As for HP I ONLY use Gerber 225 the clear liner works great.
