Barb and I want to apoligise to all our Letterhead pals in the BC mainland. We made a pronise to visit many of you that we failed to keep.

Some of you know why we are here in Surrey. I have a daughter here that we were hoping to rescue from the streets and a long time drug problem. The last few days have been a roller coaster of emotions. We never know what might happen from one second to the next.

What I can tell you all is that we have 3 plane tickets booked for Ontario tomorrow at noon. It now appears only 2 will be used, but I have not given up. We won't ever give up.

To those we missed seeing, we can only offer our apoligies and make a new promise to return. Thank You for all your support during this time.

Drugs suck bigtime.

Steve..I don't think anyone would expect an apology, considering the situation that you have encountered. Just remember...You can try as hard as you want to help your daughter but unless she is willing to help herself as well, then you are not going to make a lot of headway.

I do hope that you can help her to help her self.

Steve

Our heart goes out to you and Barb and your daughter.

We can only imagine what you are going through.

Steve, I know you are doing your best. That is the most you can do. You just have to let her know you care. I think you have more than demonstrated that to her. Now it is her choice.

Praying for you folks.

We'll catch up[with you on the next trip out this way.

Dear Shortreeds,
My heart goes out to you two. Life isn't easy and situations like the one you mentioned are the gut wrenching type.
I don't know how this will turn out but I hope it's for the better.

i was excited at the anticipated visit, but, you guys have had a rather problematic trip out here, haven't you? hopefully another time.

i empathize with your family problems. you have enough on your shoulders as it is.

have you found a discussion group of parents like yourself yet? if they were as good as this group is at being lettervillians, you'd sure have some excellent help and understanding.

in the end, it's up to the user....when they reach bottom, will they choose to swim for the top again on their own?

reach out to her, but, don't let her drown you too.

go to your destiny, friends.

To say that Steve has enough on his shoulders as it is makes me wonder what others find more important in life then ones own blood.
I am sure we all have heard the expression 'Daddys little girl'

In the end, its up to the user?
On the end of that road there is only death!
As Carrol O'Connor states, one must do whatever it is to save your child, that means, whatever it is!
The posts before me have make me realize that you folks have never really been in this position and although prayers may help, action speaks louder then words. Steve must put everything else aside if he wants to save his daughter now since he may know where she is.
Things such as business and letterville cannot compare to the loss of ones life especially of ones own daughter or son for that matter. Its very hard to put yourself in anothers situation unless of course you have been there yourself. I have never known anyone in my life that wanted to clean up so to speak and get straight from that drug. we are not talking Valium here.. On the other hand they may say what you want to hear in order to do what they want to do and you will let them get away with it out of love but remember their only love is that drug.

I was born and raised in N.Y.C. and can relate from first hand experience regards to this situation as my whole life has taken turns and shortcuts and have seen persons die in the same room I was sitting in. I myself have never used this substance but I have had many friends who could tesify if they were still living today.
Nothing comes close to the pain of having ones son or daughter die before you do.

I'm glad we were a nearby pitstop for you two. I'm also very grateful we got in a few laughs during our short visit. Thanks for taking the time to include us in your trip out to BC. Next time you come, I'll maybe even let you have the grand deluxe suite... my new shop.

Safe travels home! My fingers are crossed for you guys. xoxo
