Sunday afternoon and we'd just finished moving into the new house when this guy drives in and introduces himself as the developer of a medium sized residential property development about 1km further down the road.
The new place we've moved to is on the main road into the suburb and on the corner of our block is a sign still in good repair but advertising a defunct business. (Which I was going to re-letter for my own purposes)
He asks me if I'd be agreeable to them putting up a new sign, we get talking and he's having trouble finiding a good signwriter and we part with half a deal struck in principal and I get to do the other signs for the development including sports ground sponsorships etc.
So my question is this, has anyone had to pay rent on a site for a job and if so how was the figure arrived at?
I can think of several different ways of working out a rate but if I can get a few ideas of ways to justify whatever figure I arraive at it will make the job of finishing the deal much simpler.
Thanks in advance.
David

For me, I must be able to pay the annual lease for the land in one or two rent checks from my customers who advertise.
