When applying One Shot to powder coated sheets used on race car bodies the durability isn't very good. It scratches off easily and when applying masking tape to it after drying the One Shot peels off with tape. Can something be added to help the durability and adhesion? thanxs!

Scrub the surface with Bon-Ami before you letter it. Use a damp rag to rub it on. Let it dry, then wipe it off with a clean rag.
Todd, what you could try is XIM 100 clear primer, it sticks to everything, although I have never used it on powder coated stuff, but it worked on ceramic tiles, best suggestion would be to try it on a sample piece, then do the tape test. I think that will get you your results you want, good luck...Cisco

Never heard of anything except vinyl sticking to powder coated stuff.Try enamel receptive vinyl,I draw the design on tha vinyl with a ball point pen in tha plotter then paint,gild,blend,spray,...whatever.After that ya can cut the same design out of the vinyl if ya mark the origin to realign the vinyl for cutting. hope this helps ya.
Not all powder coats are alike as some are enamel receptive, such as some that are on metal sign blanks. A solvent prep is usually sufficient on those. The type you describe is not receptive and no amount of abraision by Bon Ami, sandpaper or Scotchbrite pads will give you long term adhesion.
