I've tried 3 times, unsuccessfully, to send a 17mb EPS file from my PC and tried it once as an AI.
After the last attempt I discovered that they're using a Mac. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Wayne..If you are e-mailing the EPS or AI file it shouldn't matter whether they are on Mac or PC. Are they recieving it and can't open it or are they not even receiving it. A lot of ISP's put a limit on the file size that can be sent to them, and 17 meg is a pretty big file!

Here's a half-baked addition to this thread. When emailing PostScript files (EPS, AI), compress them first with PKZip (www.winzip.com).

Now for the unbaked. Can PKZip files be uncompressed by Mac users? Would it be better to send a PDF, which is a piece of cake from CorelDRAW (File>>Publish to PDF...)?

i was able to open the file with no problem. for those mac users here, there's a simple trick to opening stubborn files:

put an icon of illustrator on your desktop, if one is not already there..or an alias icon will do too.

simply drop the file icon onto the illustrator icon and 99% of the time, a file that won't open simply by "open file" will open this way. it will even work on cdr files!

Don,
By saying "illustrator Icon" do you mean the shortcut for Adobe Illustrator and what is an "alias icon".
You're talkin' over my head!
Totally lost here.

wayne...answers to your question is "yes and yes"...this will work by dropping the file icon onto EITHER the shortcut icon for illustrator OR an alias illustrator icon. what i don't know is if this is a mac thing or an illustrator thing, but with illustrator running on a mac, it works.

Corel has two ways you can send ai file,
if you are exporting from corel, just check mac format and text to graphics, it should go , like don says, they can just drag and drop it if it won't open, but don't compress it.I think macs use sea files or stuff it not pkzip or winzip. E-mail is the equalizer,
I have received mac files on disk, but they can never read mine when I save to pc disk, and unformatted disk will not work from a pc, or I never have been abele to get corel to do it, even though they tell you they can.
