Has anyone ever painted on a building serface called "dryvit"? Is 1Shot OK to use on it and what type of brush would be best. If not 1Shot then what.

I did a pylon sign for a car lot last year that was finished with dryvit. They painted it with a latex enamel and installed vinyl letters on it that promply fell off. They called me to letter it with paint. I used One Shot and various fitches with no problem. The smallest lettering was around three inches. I found out it worked best to make a "dry stroke" with pretty thin paint LIGHTLY LOADED to form the letters, then kind of stomp the paint (unthinned) into the little crevices by pushing the brush straight into the sign. The finished product looked good and didn't take much longer than lettering a concrete wall. Oh yea, I was able to use masking tape on the top and bottom lines with no problem. ------------------ George Perkins Millington,TN. goatwell@ionictech.com

I recently painted a thoroughbred barn with Dryvit as a texture. After primer and 2 topcoats, it was similar to rough concrete. Fitches and walldog techniques ought to work.
