Instead of faxing a proposal for a table top display i just made a proposal on-line.

this way the client can see the display and gleen the necessary information needed to make a decision.
this seems to be faster that a faxed proposal.

let me know what you think...

Don't know about anyone else but I'm sold. This is a terrific way to present your ideas without all the hassles of making and keeping appointments.

Great presentation Mark. If I had a few extra bucks, I'd buy one just to display the red thong at Letterhead Meets. Most would agree it would look better there than on me.

Aha,this caught my eye while browsing Letterville posts. Thought you were talking marriage proposals!
I know some senior citizens that I would like to see married for companionship. Some of them are quite artistic!
However, the sign proposals sound to be very practical! What a hassle-buster that would be. I know a few that do that now. It seems that it would serve a lot of good purposes, especially production time problems.

Mark

I thought that you wanted to "marry me" when you said online proposals!!!

Actually I have been doing it since the first time we talked about doing the online sketchpad and it has sold several jobs for me. I have been designing a series of book covers in Texas and Oregon and all I do is send them the URL and they both have a look online. Thanks for the tip it works wonders.

Mark I did some revisions on the web page, check them and let me know what to think. I have more to come but i have to make money first.

I think that it's a great idea... in fact, I have been doing it for a couple of years!

One suggestion:
Place your notice of copyright on the proposal! In Corel, you can even "watermark" it so that they can't use it to Email it to EVERY other shop in the area!

That's the way to do it, I believe. Since each fax costs the recipient money, this should be more agreeable than a fax.

I also like Si's advice about using a watermark or something to prevent theft of your sketch. How secure that is, I don't know. A friend who sells fine photography online learned of programs that can remove things such as the word SAMPLE laid across an image, and then download it and sell copies. But then if there were a dispute in your case, you'd have saved your original proposal with the date on it.

Oh, and thanks for the URL on trailers. It was thoughtless, prejudicial, tacky and funny.

Nice idea Mark. It would sure save time and money to do it this way. Another Mark Fair superstupendous idea.
