That's it: customer would like a crackle finish on an outdoor sign; I've used a commercial 'kit' indoors- but it's not recommended for the outdoors... Has anyone USED any method successfully? [I've thought about a clear over the indoor formula- might try that if nothing else comes up)

Thanks in advance!

Mark

If you used the search engine associated with this page, Mike Languein had a good bit to say about this. He has a method of overlaying enamel over cheap latex that's working well. He learned it from Lenny while rushing a job.

at the last national letterheads meeting we had in OZ one of the workshops was about creating distressed signs... for outside use
the ppl used a varnish over the finished product and it works really well
the fella who taught the procedure has been doing this for a very long time and has great sucess...
ask empy what they did (i wasnt watching) he knows the steps involved
