I do most of my painting in a 12'x22' yard barn (except for vehicles) and this is where I keep all my paint and stuff. I have a small electric heater that when the temp. outside is going way down the heater comes on and keeps it at least above freezing. Not real comfortable but above freezing.
Well, after the last time it got real cold I found out that my heater had quit working. I was wondering if this will have any effect on all my one-shot and other paints ( mostly household stuff) that I keep in there ? Do I need to throw it out??? See what it will do ??? I hate to use it on a customers item only to run into problems down the road.

Dang Troy, I have never had frozen paint! LOL (I'm so glad!) My dad always told me one shot was good (indestructable) to the last drop like Maxwell House Coffee. So far he's been right. I have seen some house paint and acrylics gel up or seperate, but even with a 1/2 inch skin to cut off one shot seems to survive Bill

Just being up the Ohio River from you we're about in the same climate zone. I've had paint stored in storage building for two years with no heat (except in the summer) and my oil paints seemed to have survived but my water based paint kind of clummed up.

Troy, Don't worry at all! 1 Shot Enamels are oil-based and are not affected by sub-zero temps. The only 1 Shot products that you need be concerned about are: 5004 Vinyl Primer 5005 Acrylic Bonding Primer Acrylic Graphic Coat We have tested these water-based products through 10 freeze/thaw cycles without noticable damage, however past this point the resin will "shock out" and the product will become grainy.

If you have Latex's in there they could be affected...but oil based paints rarely have a problem unless the have picked up moisture from somewhere (like rain in an open can). Sounds to me like yer ok.
