Get a copy of Gerber's vinyl chart. They have the PMS colors listed next to any sample that is a match.

David,
most pantone colors can be matched in vinyl
ink, you can then print white vinyl and let dry and cut out after overnight drying
also edge prints most pms colors, but sometimes this requires 4 color process which is expensive and not really true colors

We have a licenced manufacturer here in Europe Ritrama from Manchester England that have all there vinyl colours listed just as Pantone numbers.

I also have an approx. list of all eqiuvalent Pantone and NCS (paint codes) for Avery products, again I don't know how this relates to the ranges sold in the US. We have Avery 900qm cast, Avery 800PF cast and Avery 600 calendered intermediate vinyls, plus translucents, and 2 types of reflex.

PMS(Pantone) Nos are for the printing industry! They relate to tramslucent printing inks. !!!!!!

Best you get a Pantone Colour Chart ... lay it against your vinyl chart for the required colour ... or close as you can get and use that!

I have never had any problems doing that. You must explain to the customer (if necessary!) that colour varies with gloss and if it is ink, vinyl, acrylic or enamel paint
