A new restaurant opened and I sold some window signs. Put a lot of work into it and completed the first window yesterday and it looked awful. All the colors were dead through this second story tinted glass. From the inside the tint barely shows. Today will be scraping it off and trying some color tests with some vinyl. I'm glad discouragement doesn't last very long. I've been doing this game for 55 years and wasn't ready for this. My experiences should have alerted me long before getting to that point.

I've found that with tinted glass all the art has to be on the outside face. I don't think there's any color shift possible that improves the situation. Second story should be safe from graffiti, right? Virtually all the store glass in my town is tinted. I've tried to talk them out of it but the glass guys seem to get there first and argue me down.

Doing the outside of the glass isn't in the realm of possibility. It would be like a third story window on a main street with lotsa traffic and wind. I think I got that project done.It required a lot of perseverance and determination and wanting to please the customer way past what I had bid the project for. I'd rather take the loss and please the customer, although if I did that frequently, I'd be outa business.

Over the years available materials and tool change, so also our canvases.
You did the right thing, fixed it, you mastered the task.

Hey Stein, good to see you here. Hows it on your side of the planet? Are sign supplies easy to get there? Lettering color? Brushes? Stabillo's? Are fuel prices real high there? Is it hot?

Not too hot, 17-28 C, long days sun is in midtsummer up 20 hours. Brush supply is execellent, but price has rised skyhigh, will start buying from Handover.co.UK. Top service good quality and low price. Using standard house paint, some are top notch in durability, covering and lasting. Fuel is always high here, Nok 80 a gallon, thats about 8 dollars. (80 % of it is tax. Our cars drives long on the gallon, My Volvo V70 from 2010 uses half a liter pr 10 km.)
