So down the street from me a car crashed into a street sign. Next day, I drove pass and saw the sign laying on the ground. I think it was a speed limit sign. And there it was on the ground. So after the ambulance and tow truck left, it was still there on the ground. As I drove past it today I wanted to stop and put another little sign on the sign that read "Please help me". Poor little sign.

A few years back, I did a double sided, hand carved gold leaf sign for a restaurant that was 4 hours from the shop.
Just 2 weeks after the sign was installed, the owner called in tears, that a car slid in the snow, through the intersection and demolished the sign.
I was crushed myself when I saw the pictures...the sign was destroyed.
Insurance paid for a new one, and the pounce patterns from the first sign weren't even rolled-up and put away yet.
Have any of you seen the TV show "American Pickers" ? Many times, during that show, those pickers come across older hand-painted signs that they attempt to buy for resale. It's astounding what they offer, and place their resale prices on, many times for some "poor little signs" that were discarded and salvaged from a junk pile. Apparently there is a market for older hand-painted signs, and a lucrative one, at that. What goes around, comes around. Just plan on being around to witness the full cycle.
